The use of baffles in poultry farming

Fam, let me tell you something real quick — airflow can build or break your entire poultry operation. Whether you’re running incubators, hatchers, brooders, or a full poultry house… if the air isn’t moving the right way, you’ll see slow growth, weak chicks, wet litter, cold drafts, hot spots, disease outbreaks — all the problems we don’t want.

So here’s the gem most farmers overlook: BAFFLES.
These simple panels can turn your setup from struggling… to smooth, uniform and professional.

A baffle is basically a guided “wall” or “flap” that forces air to move in the direction you want instead of where the fan blindly throws it. You can make them from plywood, plastic sheets, aluminium, even strong cardboard — anything flat, sturdy, and resistant to moisture.

When placed at the right angle (usually between 30°–45°), baffles mix hot and cold air properly, eliminate dead corners, reduce condensation, and stop strong direct drafts on chicks. Think of them as your invisible hands directing airflow to keep every corner of your system at the same temperature and humidity.

In incubators and hatchers, baffles help stop hot and cold spots.
In brooders, they stop cold air from dropping onto chicks.
In houses, they guide warm air down where birds can use it — instead of wasting it at the roof.

???? Good airflow = stronger immune systems, better growth, higher hatch rates, less disease… and more money in your pocket.

Where are you farming from? Let’s talk airflow like pros in the comments????
